Columbia State Community College is currently recruiting for an Assistant Registrar

This position works closely with the Registrar to oversee the daily operations and functions of the Records Office. The Assistant Registrar should demonstrate strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. This position ensures the integrity of academic records and understands compliance as it relates to internal and external constituents.


 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the graduation process. This includes certification and posting of degrees, and academic/technical certificate completion, providing graduation award information, printing and mailing of diplomas and communication flow for potential graduates.
  • College transfer credit evaluations including SOATEST
  • Maintenance of college course inventory in Banner
  • Maintenance of degree audit (scribe blocks) in Degree Works
  • Create and revise Records Office forms, assist in review/maintenance of college catalog, schedules, and Records section of web page
  • Assist in registration set-up and trouble-shooting for issues in SSB
  • Work with the Athletic Director to complete Athletic Eligibility
  • Represent the Registrar as needed

 

Supplemental Functions:

  • Manage the academic probation and dismissal process, including the set-up in Banner
  • Assist in supervision of course grading including SSB for Faculty
  • Placement test screening as applicable to “Change of Majors” and transfer students
  • Permanent member and recorder of Curriculum Committee and Admissions and Retention Committee
  • Training of new faculty and staff in usage of Banner and Degree Works
  • Assist the Records Team as needed with transcript requests, maintenance of courses/schedule in Banner, and other office functions
  • Other duties and committees as assigned

 

Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • Minimum bachelors degree preferably in business management, information systems or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in higher education administration
  • 2 years supervisory experience essential
  • Banner or comparable student information system experience
  • Degree Works experience; ability to Scribe desirable
  • Masters degree preferred

  • Excellent written/verbal communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to relate to and work with a diverse population
  • Experience/knowledge of PC software packages and electronic system applications related to academics, records, and registration

 

Working Conditions:

  • Normal sitting and movement in an office environment including visual and hand usage of computer
  • Some travel required
  • Some light lifting may be required

 

Titles supervised:

1. Supervise staff in Registrars absence


 

Hiring Salary Range: $54,190 – $67,730
