Job Summary and Responsibilities: This Program Coordinator/Teacher at Chattanooga State Community College is responsible for coordinating and supporting the activities for students in the Tiger Access program; all students in the program will have developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Program Coordinator/Teacher will work closely with key stakeholders in the college (exp. Academic departments, faculty, and staff) and in the community (exp. Local non-profits and employers). The Program/Teacher Coordinator will promote a high-quality education experience by assisting with accommodations and modifications to curriculum and providing effective teaching practices in College Readiness classes. The Program Coordinator/Teacher plays a crucial role in promoting student success, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
Teaching demonstration required during 2nd interview

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Education or related field
5 years or more working with the population

Essential Functions:
Teaching Excellence/Program Innovation:
Research and implement high-quality teaching experiences for students with disabilities in College Readiness classes and activities.
Along with Program Director, assist in the modifications and accommodations for Tiger Access students in facultys curriculum materials and syllabi.
Work with local non-profits to bring in their expertise into classroom experiences. This will involve careful scheduling of class activities for each week.
Work with faculty as students progress to other classes to collaboratively suggest innovative pedagogical approaches and learning strategies for Tiger Access students.
Assist with management of student mentors, including assisting with recruitment of mentors. In partnership with local non-profits, work to educate mentors about working with the students in the program.
Prepare reports and presentations on key findings and recommendations for improvement for Tiger Access.

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices

Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures related to educational experiences.
Foster collaboration among faculty members and community partners encouraging the exchange of ideas for best serving the students in the program.
Serve as a liaison between faculty, department chairs, academic administrators, and other stakeholders.

Holistic Student Support:
Collaborate with faculty and student support services to promote student success.
Ensure that Tiger Access students are fully immersed in campus life at Chattanooga State by collaborating with Student Life clubs and events.
Monitor student progress and academic performance, implementing intervention strategies, as needed.
Contribute to the development of initiatives aimed at improving student engagement and persistence.

Fiscal Stewardship:
Abide by all institutional, state, and federal policies, guidelines, and regulations.
Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure sustainability of the program.
