Compensation:

The annual salary range upon entry for the position is $114,709.54 to $194,535.96.

Total compensation includes a health insurance plan.

New employees hired on or after January 1, 2014, contribute 2% of salary to the San Francisco Retiree Health Care Trust Fund (RHCTF).

Position Description

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Student Success, the Associate Dean of Student Completion is responsible for providing leadership, planning, evaluation, and administrative oversight for the following areas to support both credit and noncredit programs and students: Completion Center, Veterans Services, and the Matriculation and Assessment Services. This position is responsible for the development and execution of innovative partnerships that increase student access, equity, success, and completion. This position will collaborate with other departments and oversee programs and services on the Ocean Campus and all Centers to promote a positive student experience regardless of location and mode of delivery.


Note: This position will be required to work on campus full-time and may be assigned to work on the Ocean Campus and/or different centers. This position will be required to oversee all responsible areas and deliver programs and services through different modalities including on-campus, in-person, and online. This position may be required to work evenings and weekends.

 

Job Duties

  1. Oversee and provide leadership to the Completion Center, Veterans Services, and the Matriculation and Assessment Services to implement and ensure the delivery of quality services to the diverse student populations in both credit and noncredit divisions at the Ocean Campus and Education Centers.
  2. Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for both employees and students aligned with the Colleges Mission to support student success, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  3. Support an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive, and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
  4. In compliance with District guidelines, recommend, implement, and monitor multiple budgets for assigned areas to ensure that the departments/programs remain fiscally sound and operate within their allocated budgets, while also centering diversity, equity, and inclusion in budget decisions.
  5. Provide leadership for the development of programs, services, innovative strategies, and student success activities that remove systemic barriers and increase student equity, retention, and timely completion for credit and noncredit students.
  6. Collaborate to enhance and/or develop and implement best practices, processes, and procedures to effectively assess the needs of students, including the early identification of at-risk students, and working cooperatively with other departments to develop appropriate intervention strategies and programs that will positively impact opportunities for the students academic, personal, and career success.
  7. Support the continued implementation and evaluation of laws and regulations such as Assembly Bills 705 and 1705 and recommend improvements to enhance equitable placement and assessment practices.
  8. Provide leadership and direction to the Matriculation and Assessment Services Department to continually enhance the enrollment process, onboarding, and student experience for credit and noncredit students on the Ocean Campus and at all Centers.
  9. Collaborate with Academic and Institutional Affairs to conduct assessment validation research and submit required reports to the State Chancellors Office by the established deadlines.
  10. Oversee the operations of both the Veterans Services Office and the Veterans Resource Center and sustains a welcoming learning environment for the student veterans to meet their unique needs and concerns.
  11. Resolve operational matters, student complaints, and concerns in a timely manner to support student equity and success.
  12. Maintain an understanding of current research, technology, and practices pertaining to areas of responsibility through professional development and participation in professional organizations.
  13. Provide leadership on student learning outcomes and program review as they relate to programs and services under areas of responsibility.
  14. Collaboratively set annual goals for the programs and services under areas of responsibility. Participate in planning activities and facilitates the completion of goals in a timely manner.
  15. Develop, implement, and evaluate College policies and procedures and make recommendations to improve programs and services following the Participatory Governance process.
  16. Interpret and enforce the California Code of Regulations and Education Code to promote student equity, success, and completion.
  17. Prepare and present narrative and statistical reports to constituency groups and committees and ensures program compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  18. Strengthen partnerships with K-12 school systems, community-based organizations, and four-year universities to create pathways for students to successfully complete their educational goals.
  19. Promote a culture of diversity, equity, access, and student success by centering decision-making on inclusive practices that foster innovation and the delivery of high-quality services to our students and community.
  20. In accordance with District policies, contracts, and procedures, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the employees including the 1490 Student Services Specialists in the oversight areas at the Ocean Campus and Education Centers to support credit and noncredit students.
  21. Collaborate with Employee Relations in resolving conflicts and employee disciplinary matters as needed.
  22. Serve on District and state-wide committees as assigned, including participating on CCSF Participatory Governance and Academic Senate committees.
  23. Complete the program reviews, annual plans, student learning, and service outcome assessment through a transparent and collaborative process.
  24. Attend Board of Trustees meetings, make presentations, and submit reports and action items related to areas of responsibility.
  25. Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism as it pertains to improving systems of higher education for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted student groups.
  26. Organizes and prioritizes a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, organizes own work, sets priorities, and meets critical time deadlines.
  27. Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  2. Earned Masters Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education and one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators administrative assignment.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated experience in an administrative or management position in student affairs with responsibility for personnel, budgets, reporting, and operations.
  2. Demonstrated commitment to increased student success through innovative student affairs programs and practices appropriate at the community college level.
  3. Demonstrated understanding and experience working with diverse student populations including student veterans in a higher education setting.
  4. Evidence of successful leadership experience at the university or college level of promoting a culture of inclusivity, equity-mindedness, diversity, and anti-racism.
  5. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to California Community College systems, including the California Education Code, Title 5, and accreditation standards.
  7. Experience and knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to the student affairs environment.
  8. Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time student services, and professional experience at a community college.
  9. Ability to utilize current and emerging technology to enhance programs, services, and operational efficiency.
  10. Experience with data-informed strategic planning and decision-making, accreditation, program review, and student learning outcomes assessment.
  11. Demonstrated experience with service-learning programs and major event planning.
  12. Experience in a multi-education center district.
