JOB TITLE: PART-TIME BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SUPPORT PRACTICUM ASSISTANT

DEPARTMENT: ARTS, SCIENCES AND BUSINESS

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $25.00 PER HOUR


 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Director

SCHEDULE DETAILS: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)


 

Position Summary

This Behavioral Health Support Practicum Assistant is responsible for the management of practicum experiences as well as assisting the Program Director. Administrative skills and experience building professional relationships are mandatory. Other major responsibilities include maintaining professionalism within the specialized field, including currency and required certifications, and participating in department and college-wide events.


 

Essential Job Duties

  • Schedule students for practicum rotations.
  • Regularly communicate with facility preceptors and practicum agencies.
  • Assess student participation in practicum rotation.
  • Maintain records of student progress and achievement of practicum skills.
  • Maintain discipline and decorum in all student and facility interactions.
  • Maintain appropriate record keeping, including progress reports, attendance records, and practicum experience records.
  • Schedule speakers and experiences at the OTC CEMS Center.
  • Assist in student recruitment, screening, and onboarding for each BHS cohort.
  • Attends all meetings as scheduled and announced.
  • Assist with the Program Admission Committee.
  • Assist with student orientations, at OTC, and at practicum facilities.
  • Maintain professionalism.
  • Attend community/professional events as requested.
  • Attend bi-annual advisory committee meetings.
  • Attend quarterly practicum agency planning sessions.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associates degree in a social service field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience in the social service field or social service administration.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in a social service field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
  • Experience in a leadership role in a professional organization.
  • Experience working within a practicum setting or DMH-certified facility.
