Position Highlights | The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Arizona is accepting applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in the College of Medicine – Tucson. We seek investigators with interest in molecular pharmacology in mitochondrial genetics, bioenergetics, neuroscience, mitochondria imaging in vivo and in vitro, and mitochondrial medicine for age-related diseases. The successful applicant should have experience in developing novel transgenic mouse models and translational preclinical models that can be applied to discovery of new therapeutics or development of novel treatment paradigms for Parkinsons, Alzheimers, and ALS. Further, the applicant should have previous experience in managing core facility for mitochondria analyses and experience in behavioral analyses for phenotyping mitochondrial mouse models. The Department has a strong internationally recognized program dedicated to the study of BBB physiology and pharmacology in the setting CNS diseases. The expertise of the current faculty members encompasses a spectrum of molecular, neurobiological, neuropharmacological, and multidisciplinary techniques allowing for vibrant collaborative efforts designed to address questions that integrate NVU/BBB biology into neuropharmacology.
