The Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a full-time, open-rank Clinical Teaching Track, faculty position beginning in Spring 2024. Initial review of applications will begin on November 10, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled. We are seeking applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure track position to serve as the Clinic Director and Clinical Training Coordinator in our APA-accredited clinical psychology PhD program. Our psychology clinic provides a range of mental health services to the CU Denver campus and the surrounding community with an emphasis on high quality clinical training for our clinical health psychology doctoral students. The clinic operates 12 months a year and the Clinic Director would receive an additional summer appointment and compensation.   

The Director will provide leadership in clinical training and the administration of clinic operations.  We are interested in applicants with background and experience in clinic operations as well as knowledge of the clinical training requirements for clinical psychology trainees.  Candidates must have expertise within the field of Health Psychology, as well as evidence-based mental health services for diverse populations and experience providing clinical supervision and teaching graduate-level courses.  As the Clinical Training Coordinator, the successful applicant will liaison with external practicum sites and supervisors to monitor student progress.  In this capacity, knowledge of mental health and medical service providers in the Denver metropolitan area is preferred.    

We particularly encourage candidates who can enhance the departments commitment to diversity through teaching, supervision, and outreach. Applicants will be expected to teach graduate courses, supervise clinical health psychology graduate students, and participate in service activities. We are interested in candidates with a passion for high-quality clinical care, clinical supervision, and teaching at the graduate level. The successful applicant will join 10 existing graduate faculty in the teaching and mentoring of Ph.D. students and a broader group of 23 faculty within the psychology department. In addition to colleagues within the department, the nearby University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus provides rich opportunities for collaboration and clinical training. The position requires a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology (or closely related field) from an APA-accredited program and must be licensed or license-eligible to practice as a psychologist in the state of Colorado.

Assistant Professor C/T  

Educational Requirements:    

·         Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program or a comparable degree in a related field  

  

Qualifications and Experience:   

·         At least two years of experience in clinical supervision of trainees  

·         At least two years of postdoctoral-level experience providing psychological services in a clinical setting, ideally in the field of clinical health psychology 

·         Experience teaching college level courses 

·         Experience working clinically with diverse populations.   

·         Experience supervising doctoral, interns or post-doctoral trainees working in a clinical setting.  

·         Eligibility for licensure in Colorado  

  

Associate Professor C/T  

Educational Requirements:  

·         Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program or a comparable degree in a related field  

 

Qualifications and Experience:  

·         At least five years of experience in clinical supervision of trainees 

·         At least five years of postdoctoral-level experience providing psychological services in a clinical setting, ideally in the field of clinical health psychology. 

·         Experience teaching graduate level courses 

·         Demonstrated excellence in the area of clinical work and clinical supervision. 

·         Experience managing a mental health and/or a training clinic. 

·         Experience implementing innovative clinical modalities such as telehealth services. 

·         Experience working clinically with diverse populations.   

·         Experience supervising doctoral, interns or post-doctoral trainees working in a clinical setting.  

·         Eligibility for licensure in Colorado  

  

Professor C/T   

Educational Requirements:    

·         Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program or a comparable degree in a related field  

  

Qualifications and Experience:   

·         At least ten years of experience in clinical supervision of trainees 

·         At least five years of postdoctoral-level experience providing psychological services in a clinical setting, ideally in the field of clinical health psychology. 

·         Minimum of five years at the rank of Associate Professor C/T, or comparable rank. 

·         Demonstrated outstanding contributions in clinical teaching and clinical supervision. 

·         Experience teaching graduate level courses in the area of Clinical Psychology and/or Health Psychology. 

·         Experience managing a training clinic for an APA Accredited Clinical Psychology program or a related field.  

·         Experience implementing innovative clinical modalities such as telehealth services. 

·         Experience working clinically with diverse populations.   

·         Experience supervising doctoral, interns or post-doctoral trainees working in a clinical setting.  

·         Eligibility for licensure in Colorado

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this full-time, 9 month position has been established at:

  • Assistant Professor C/T: $90,000 to $96,000 annually
  • Associate Professor C/T: $92,000 to $96,000 annually
  • Professor C/T: $94,000 to $96,000 annually

Additional compensation for summer research/teaching/service may be available.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
