Job Summary
This is a grant-funded position until September 30, 2028. Position may be eligible for continuation, contingent upon available funds.

Under the direction of the Director of Advising, the Admissions & Academic Advisor will help support the overall mission and strategic plan of the college, will deliver educational planning support to students seeking enrollment and/or enrolled in college programs with a concentration on, but not exclusive to, curriculum programs. In addition, the Admission & Academic Advisor may serve as academic advisor for set cohorts and will take part in planning and outreach support to facilitate college engagement and encourage enrollment and retention. This position will regularly communicate with students and related faculty to ensure the marketing, retention, completion, and post completion success of all students.
    • Conduct intake interviews with prospective students, furnish information on programs of study and college resources and assist with entrance requirements.
    • Serve as advisor to new students, up to 12 SCH.
    • Assist with admissions for returning and prospective students.
    • Assist with advising and registration.
    • Reach out to prospective students and work closely with campus entities to promote awareness and recruitment.
    • Maintain accurate and complete records in Ellucian, Watermark and secure databases regarding students assisted and services provided.
    • Responsible for assisting students with alignment of their personal, academic and career goals with the appropriate campus services, academic programs, and class selection.
    • Assist with college recruitment and events as needed.
    • Use data to inform recommended interventions for students.
    • Other duties as assigned by Director of Advising.

 


Hiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($3,192 – 3,990/monthly)

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Strong technology skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both group and individual situations required.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in admission, student activities, advising, recruiting, program planning, or related area preferred.
