Monitors residence hall front desk. Answers telephones, assists with public and guest relations. Provides information and assistance to students as needed. Performs general offices duties; filing, data entry, and record keeping. Monitors physical security of the building. Maintains confidentiality of student records and information. Forwards information and instructions between the hall manager and residents. Attends all mandatory meetings and training for staff, and performs all other duties as assigned. Night-shift workers are required to stay alert and awake during their shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer literacy
- Basic keyboarding, and data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience
- Experience with multi-line telephone
Essential Functions
- Monitor the front desk of the residence hall
- Performs general office duties; filing, data entry, and record keeping
- Monitor physical security of the residence hall
- Night shift employees must be able to stay alert during the shift
- Answer telephones and assist with guest relations
- Provide information and assistance to student residents as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records
- Communicate information and instructions between the hall manager and residents
- Attend training sessions and all mandatory meetings for staff
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
