Job Description
Patrick & Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Serving Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and the southern portion of Franklin County, P&HCC is a comprehensive open-door institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree. Patrick & Henry offers 29 associate degree programs, 12 certificate programs and 38 career studies certificate programs. The college also delivers a variety of nontraditional programs such as customized workforce development training, industry-recognized certifications, developmental and transitional programs, and courses for personal enrichment.
Purpose of Position:
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required by start date; must hold a current Registered Nursing license or have multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as Registered Nurse without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice; must have two years of experience as a registered nurse within the previous five years and at least one year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services.
- Such experience may include, but not be limited to, employment in a nurse aide education program or employment in or supervision of nursing students in a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, home care or other long-term care setting.
- Experience should include varied responsibilities, such as direct client care, supervision, and education.
- Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to teach a combination of day, evening, and weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes, skills laboratory, and conduct clinical.
- Candidate should be familiar with utilizing computer and other technologies for instruction.
