The Interim Assistant Provost is responsible for working with faculty, shared governance systems, and Academic Affairs colleagues to assess the effectiveness and continued regional relevance of the curriculum and related academic support services at Onondaga Community College. The Interim Assistant Provost provides administrative leadership to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study process; develops transfer relationships and agreements; and, provides project leadership and coordination to grant-supported initiatives that enhance faculty scholarship and student learning. The Interim Assistant Provost provides leadership to strategic initiatives of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, including, with the Provost, the development and implementation of operational plans that implement the College's new strategic plan. The Interim Assistant Provost assists the Provost to coordinate human resources processes and problem-solving consistent with applicable collective bargaining requirements and manages special projects and other duties as assigned by the Provost and Senior Vice President.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in partnership with faculty, shared governance systems, and Academic Affairs to further develop and maintain a culture of assessment.

Provide administrative leadership to the MSCHE self-study process.
Support faculty departments to develop, implement, and assess operational plans that implement relevant elements of the new college strategic plan.
Work with the Academic Deans to monitor outcomes from six-year program review processes to foster appropriate implementation of assessment findings into the curriculum.
Collaborate with faculty to implement a clear, equitable, and supportive program revitalization (mix) review process for programs experiencing significant change.

Work with the Provost to develop strategic partnerships with transfer institutions. Engage faculty to develop and strengthen transfer agreements to support student transfer with junior standing to four-year institutions; work with the Office of Registration and Records to ensure regular updating of existing transfer agreements to maintain accuracy.

Collaborate to develop and implement grant-supported initiatives designed to strengthen academic pathways for students, support intellectual vitality of the curriculum, enhance faculty leadership development, and build community-based organization partnerships.

Lead strategic initiatives of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

Assist the Provost to coordinate human resources processes and problem-solving consistent with applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Manage special projects and other duties as assigned by the Provost and Senior Vice President.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Advanced degree and mature record of academic service, scholarship and teaching.
Minimum of five years administrative leadership experience in higher education at a community college to include experience in an academic leadership role such as a dean, assistant/associate provost, and/or provost.
A track record of leading assessment efforts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. English and other language considered.

Demonstrated ability to work with and support diverse groups/populations.

Additional Information:
Salary range: $94,318 - $117,897
