SUMMARY:
This position will be one of several on-call bus drivers to support HCC activities to numerous destinations within a 200 mile radius.

Please note, this is a temporary, part-time position and the number of hours per week will vary according to the needs of the College.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:*

• The HCC Bus Drivers report directly to and are responsible to the Coordinator of Commercial Vehicle Transportation.
• The HCC Bus Drivers coordinate most closely with CVT Staff and various other internal departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*

Major duties of this position:

• Safely operate a 45 passenger bus on public and private roads.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Refuel bus.
• Monitor loading, unloading, and transportation of passengers and cargo to ensure it is done in a safe manner.
• Understand, implement, and adhere to HCC temporary employee handbook policies and applicable state and federal regulation.
• Coordinate the details of the assigned trip, from dispatch to departure, with group leader or coach.
• Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a clean driving record
• Must possess and maintain a CDL A or B driver's license with passenger endorsement.
• Must have a current DOT physical
• Previous bus driver experience requested-3 years or more preferred
• Experience driving a public school bus preferred
• Must have basic knowledge of passenger carrying regulations and safely operate a passenger bus with up to 45 passengers on board.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to perform required vehicle inspection and fueling
• Must adhere to state and federal regulations
• Must be flexible to accommodate varying work hours
• Must be able to communicate effectively
