Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of the Chap Center to include cleaning, usage control, and assisting Chap Center attendees.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of general office equipment including computer, copier, and multi-line phone
  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Essential Functions

  • Unloading and packing up equipment and setting up venues for events
  • Work as usher, greeter, and or ticket taker
  • Work under the instruction of the Chap Center Coordinator and/or Director
  • Ensure Chap Center is clean and organized
  • Adhere to safety standards
  • Ensure excellent levels of customer service
  • Perform light maintenance work
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
