Job Description

Niagara County Community College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Director of Admissions. To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized and possess a problem-solving attitude approach to work. Effective communication and program planning skills are essential along with the ability to establish and enforce policies and regulations as well as developing, planning, and implementing short- and long-range goals. As the Assistant Director of Admissionsyou will play a crucial role in the application and enrollment process at Niagara County Community College. You will be responsible for coordinating and management of the application procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for prospective students. Additionally, you will have oversight of the Enrollment Center support staff, leading and training them to provide exceptional customer service. This position will also oversee the international admissions process and will act as SEVIS PDSO. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions. Weekend and evening hours are required during peak times.

Typical Work Activites:

1. Oversee day-to-day processing of admissions applications, monitor progress through analytics and operational reports, troubleshoot processing issues, develop new processes, and enhance existing processes.

2. Provide guidance and direction to the admissions application processing team to improve application management and support an expedited admission process.

3. Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, manages the utilization of new and existing technologies with a focus on admissions strategies including planned application review, application and decision communication, decision release, queue management, and reporting.

4. Manage front desk operations in the Enrollment Center to include staff cross-training and staffing in collaboration with Enrollment Center leadership.

5. Identify and train Student Ambassadors in collaboration with departments across the college.

6. Oversee the Student Ambassador Program to give tours and assist in other admissions functions.

7. Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) or Primary Designated School Official (PDSO).

8. Act as VA database backup for veteran student compliance officer.

9. Attend recruitment events as needed.

10. Serve on college committees as requested.

11. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years of full-time professional experience working in a higher education setting
  • Valid Drivers license

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Student Personnel Administrative/Higher Education or related field
  • Three or more years of full-time or equivalent professional experience working in admissions with progressively increased responsibility
  • Experience working with an SIS and CRM (Slate preferred)
  • Experience with international student admissions
