POSITION DESCRIPTION

Compton Community College District is seeking to establish a pool of qualified applicants for the position of Part-time Seasonal Assistant Coach, Women's Badminton. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by respective department deans and/or faculty chairs. The compensation for the Assistant Coach position will be determined by the Head Coach and the Dean of Athletics and Student Support Services.

 

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience.

 

Demonstrated sensitivity to, understanding of, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, religious, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

 

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part time teaching assignment. Assignment may included teaching during days, evenings or weekends. A teaching demonstration may be required during the interview process. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned essential functions of this job description are essential physical requirements. The chart below indicates the percentage of time spent on each of the following essential physical requirements.

 

Seldom = Less than 25 percent

Often = 51-75 percent

Occasional = 25-50 percent

Very Frequent = 76 percent and above

Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. 4

Ability to sit for extended periods of time. 3

Ability to see for purposes of reading printed matter and observing students. 4

Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. 4

Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. 4

Ability to lift 5 lbs. 1
