Summer Program Instructor - Upward Bound

Work Week
Up to 20 Hours | Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as needed
Position Summary
The Instructor will provide instruction in the varied subjects, e.g., Creative Writing, Lab Science, Biology, Foreign Language, Math, VEX Robotics, STEM or related field that coordinates with high school students from 9th to 12th grades.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Incorporate laboratory activities
- Analyze student needs
- Answer student questions and clarify areas of concern
- Assist students with homework, projects, class assignments and college applications
- Assist staff with college readiness workshops
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in subject area, Science, STEAM, STEM, or related field,
- One (1) plus years work related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) skills, as well as effective organizational and time management skills
- Must be comfortable wearing professional dress attire
- Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse populations
- The ability to travel to various sites as onsite support to assist the Upward Bound staff, if needed
- Be able to pass a criminal background test
- Be available the first week of June for a one-day training session
