Job Description
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginias capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds Community College is seeking a visionary leader to join our executive team and champion a transformative approach to student success. The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing innovative strategies that empower every student to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

The Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success champions the success of all students throughout their educational journey. As a key member of the Executive Cabinet Team, the Vice President reports directly to the president and collaborates with the leadership team on strategic planning and decision-making.

The core focus of this position is to ensure equitable access, success, retention, and engagement for all students. This is achieved by developing and implementing data-driven strategies to influence enrollment and meet established goals. The Vice President monitors and leads discussions about the colleges overall enrollment health.

Beyond enrollment, the Vice President oversees all functional areas of the colleges Enrollment Management and Student Success Division, and serves as a strong advocate for student learning in all aspects of student life. The Vice President works closely with faculty and staff to ensure the college offers high-quality academic and student support services and programs that: enrich student learning; foster a strong sense of community; promote personal growth through engagement.

Core Duties and Knowledge:
  • Chief Student Services Officer: Responsible for developing, maintaining, and assessing the coordinated delivery of essential student services that lead to increasing student success. Oversees key functions in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of comprehensive enrollment management. This includes admissions, recruitment, onboarding, financial aid, advising, registrar, Student Life, military services, career and transfer services, testing, student accommodations, student support services, student conduct and more.
  • Data-Driven Leader: Leverage data analytics to identify opportunities, develop evidence-based strategies, and measure impact. Continuously refine programs and processes to ensure adaptation to evolving student needs and landscapes.
  • Collaborative Changemaker: Through cross-functional collaboration, partner with academic leaders, faculty, and colleagues across the institution to foster a seamless student experience, from inquiry to graduation, transfer, and job placement. Drives measurable increases in student success metrics including retention, graduation, transfer, and career readiness.
  • Relationship Builder: Work with external stakeholders to create valuable alliances that will benefit students. Serves as the primary college contact for VCCS on all student development matters.
  • Tech-Savvy Innovator: Champion the use of technology to enhance student services and personalized learning, exploring the potential of virtual support, AI, and predictive analytics.

Strategic Vision and Program Development:
  • Amplifying Student Voices: Ensure faculty, staff, and administrators understand the lived experience of students. Design services that are responsive to current needs and aspirations, incorporating feedback from students, advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Holistic Success Champion: Cultivate a comprehensive vision for student success that integrates academic supports and non-academic resources, encompassing social, emotional, and financial wellbeing.
  • Equity at the Core: Embed principles of diversity, equity, and leadership through decision-making, and impactful strategies, ensuring accessible and effective services for all students, regardless of background or identity.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree: holds an earned doctorate in a relevant field of higher education from a regionally accredited university.
Five or more years of progressive responsible roles in higher education student services, community college experience preferred.
Three or more years of supervision experience, including hiring, training, performance, evaluation, and conflict resolution.
Budget management, including planning, development, and monitoring.
Experience that demonstrates equity-minded and culturally competent leadership and advocacy skills.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of the student success narrative through national research, thought leadership and reputable student success organizations and strategies including the Guided Pathways model, and the Achieving the Dream network.
Possess significant experience working directly with students, leading teams, and building impactful external partnerships.
Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the Reynolds Community College mission and a relentless drive to empower every student to achieve their full potential.
