Job Summary
As a member of the Department of Undergraduate Admissions, this individual is responsible for coordinating and managing the timely processing of admission applications and the daily operations related to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This individual is also responsible for planning, coordinating, executing and assessing specific initiatives that support and promote the university's enrollment goals such as: new and existing application and admit processing and services, admissions policy and process development and/or compliance, development and oversight of admission-related collaboration with UWM schools, colleges, and programs, maintenance and development of admissions systems and technology supports, service to internal and external constituents on enrollment and admission matters and information tor training workshops.

As a member of the Undergraduate Admissions Leadership Team, the individual will be responsible for developing and promoting new initiatives and programs as appropriate and relative to the strategic enrollment direction of the university. This individual is responsible for providing leadership for a team of 10 professional staff and directly supervises three (3) staff members (Application and Residency Review Manager, Application Operations Analyst, and Application Review Manager) and is expected to provide training, supervision, and evaluation for the team at large on an ongoing basis. The incumbent serves on the Departmental Leadership Team and other campus teams, representing the Department of Undergraduate Admissions as appropriate. The position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and Communications.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelors Degree. While the major field is not critical, majors in social work, student personnel, business, guidance, and counseling related fields would provide a strong background for this position
  2. At least three (3) years of experience in student affairs working with a diverse student population and/or in Admissions
  3. Experience supervising or advising staff (student or professional)



Preferred Qualifications

  1. Masters degree in student affairs, higher education, college student personnel, or other related field
  2. Experience with executing Admissions Operations tasks, workflows, and processes
  3. Demonstrated commitment to advancing social justice/diversity/equity/inclusion initiatives
  4. Experience or demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities
  5. Experience leading collaborations and communications among multiple partners and stakeholders
  6. Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and data management systems in collaboration with content experts
