Adjunct Faculty - Information Systems, Analytics and Supply Chain Management (Summer I)

Position Description

The Department of Information Systems, Analytics and Supply Chain Management at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor for Summer I 2024 beginning May 13th, 2024. This position is to teach the following class:

CIS 410 (Selected Topics in IS: Human-Centered Generative AI) online with a starting day of May 13th, 2024.

CIS 410 Course Description:
This course aims to help students develop the mindsets and skills necessary to build user-friendly generative AI. As Artificial Intelligence is rapidly advancing and increasingly adopted in society, it is fundamentally changing the way businesses operate. In particular, generative AI is becoming a critical part of business operation and strategy. 

This course explores the interactions of human-centered design and generative AI technologies. The course covers various generative AI platforms, prompt engineering techniques, and human-centered design methodologies to integrate humans into the design, development, and evaluation of generative AI systems. 
The course complements and differentiates from other AI for business courses as it focuses on training business professionals on the customer-facing side of generative AI to create a superb conversational experience, featuring design thinking, User Experience (UX) design, and generative AI hands-on projects. 

Position Requirements

The successful candidate should possess a Masters or advanced degree, and/or equivalent degree/credentials in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field. Demonstrated prior teaching experience of Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Analytics, and related courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level is required.

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Strong industry experiences in relevant fields and/ or a PhD are a plus.
