Essential Job Duties
These activities include:
- Manage marketing and promotional activities for the programs
- Coordinate student recruitment
- Develop and implement student retention activities
- Provide support during orientation for new students
- Help with the scheduling of courses and classrooms
- Coordinate the matriculation process for students and provide necessary assistance to ensure a smooth transition into the university
- Support SMT undergraduate student enhancement initiatives including professional development workshops and off-campus site visits
- Provide support in assessing the educational outcomes of the SMT program
- Assist in the process of securing and maintaining accreditation for the SMT undergraduate program
- Coordinate the annual undergraduate banquet
- Assist committee with scholarship selection and awarding
- Organize graduation activities and events
- Assist faculty with academic advising
- Organize and preside regular meetings of key personnel involved with undergraduate recruiting, placement and retention
- Provide marketing and administrative support for SMT and WP extension workshops and short courses
- Provide business support for the SMT undergraduate program and the WP Extension program.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in planning departmental activities associated with graduation ceremonies and attend graduation ceremonies.
- Assist with Open House and other departmental events.
- Complete additional administrative tasks as requested by the SMT Undergraduate Program Director and departmental personnel.
Minimum Experience/Education
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
- Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in records collection and records management
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficiency in office computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Graduate students, and Graduate School processes
- Experience with Student Information Systems used at any level
- Ability to interact with a diverse group
- Ability to understand and communicate information to and from a broad range of sources, including faculty, staff, administrators, external constituents, partner, and agencies
- Background in marketing, communication, or related areas

Valid NC Driver's License required
