Position Summary:

The Grants Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Grant Department, primarily focusing on coordinating post-award activities and ensuring efficient operations. This includes overseeing the reporting, both fiscal and programmatic, for all grants under management (~25). Additionally, this position will work closely with each Principal Investigator(s) (PI)/Project Lead(s) of each grant-funded project to track progress toward meeting the approved project initiatives. This position will also take the lead in maintaining the Grants Department calendar for both grant development and grant management activities.

Required Education/Experience:

BA/BS degree · 5+ years of experience with grants administration and/or compliance (government grant experience required; federal grant experience desired) · Experience with federal OMB (Office of Management and Budget) circulars

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in federal grant funding is preferred.
  • Experience in compliance and reporting of grant-funded personnel.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of grant processes, including accounting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements for federal, state, and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration.
  • Capability to review the work of others to ensure adherence to funder guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using financial management software, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience managing budgets and spending plans, conducting reviews of budget-versus-actuals, and delivering projects on budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively within and across departments/functions and building positive relationships with faculty and staff.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong project management and time management skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and have demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
