Job Summary


 

Provides in-person synchronous and blended asynchronous instruction for adult learners enrolled in a specific noncredit course, High School Equivalency Fundamentals and Career Training, with integrated content for participants, including student success skills, math and language arts review, Civics exam test preparation, and career exploration. Concurrently provides noncredit career training instruction such as customer service; inventory and logistics; and/or Microsoft Specialist skills, or other career training instruction that leads to a stackable workforce credential. Supports students in time management, study skills, progress assessments, and milestone achievement during the course. Integrates digital literacy skills and GED® test guidance to support student success. Utilizes approved curriculum for course components and collaborates with instructional and career services teams to monitor and refer students as part of a case management model.

Essential Functions


 

40% - Delivers integrated instruction to new students through a noncredit High School Equivalency Fundamentals and Career Training course using blended learning strategies; follows approved course curriculum to increase students skills in time management, goal setting, foundational math and language arts, and digital literacy; provides an overview of GED® testing, including instruction for the Civics test; delivers career exploration activities and teaches noncredit career training that leads to a stackable industry-recognized credential; Sets up and monitors learning management system account access and use for student academic and career training; Monitors and supports student milestone achievement during the 8-week course including educational functioning level gains through progress testing, civics test completion, and non-credit industry-recognized credential attainment.
30% - Engages in student case management by assessing individual learner needs to develop, implement, and regularly update individualized learning plans; regularly monitors and assesses student progress toward learning goals outlined in their individualized learning plans; Identifies early signs of academic challenges or barriers to success and implements timely interventions to address them; Engages in student assessment and reviews student progress data to inform instruction; utilizes student data to set academic goals; maintains knowledge of career pathway
opportunities, regularly shares career training information with students, and completes student referrals including eligibility requirement verification for class placement and career training co-enrollment.
10% - Collaborates with Senior Instructors, Success Coaches, College and Career Navigators, other instructors, and staff to provide holistic learner support; Participates in regular meetings with support teams to discuss student progress, share insights, and collaborate on effective strategies; Supports soft hand-off transition to content area classes after HSE FCT cohorts are complete.
10% - Maintains attendance records for multiple student activities, including synchronous instruction, learning management system usage, and asynchronous instruction; supports class roster maintenance; and completes other documents as required by the program
10% - Engages in job-embedded professional learning communities and position-specific training to maintain Arizona Adult Education Certificate requirements and meet annual program goals; shares career training/IET opportunities with instructors and facilitates discussions related to IETs and career training; collaborates with other IET Instructors on best practices and training; performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


 

A. Bachelors degree in Education or related degree
B. Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: Language Arts, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Civics, and Science
C. Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Arizona Adult Education Certification within 60 days of hire

Desired Qualifications


 

A. Minimum of three (3) years' teaching experience in college and career readiness and/or development or in a K-12 environment
B. Excellent organizational and communication skills
C. Experience using a computer and other applicable technologies
