Product Compliance QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze changes in regulations and standards for U.S. and Canada that may impact the organization's product compliance programs, with a strong focus on EMC and Radio Frequency (FCC and ISED), and support for Product Safety (UL, CSA, CPSC, FDA, Health Canada) requirements.

  • Support the product compliance team to provide guidance and product specific consultation to business groups to ensure regulatory requirements, changes, and options are understood and applied.

  • Participate in discussions under standards organizations, trade associations, and regulatory bodies for proposed requirements and represent Sony's positions.

  • Collect and prepare comments on draft regulatory requirements in collaboration with Sony headquarters and business groups.

  • Review test reports, certifications, and other regulatory data for submission.

  • Draft product compliance instructions for business groups with collaboration with Sony headquarters and business groups for compliance assurance.

  • Other duties as requested and/or needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Electrical engineering, or similar fields of study preferred.

  • 2 - 4 years' experience with design, testing and compliance management with EMC and RF requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with product safety testing and process analysis is a plus.

  • Detailed and results oriented with excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities.

  • Advance verbal communication skills and ability to present clearly and precisely to all audiences is a must.

  • Proficiency in analyzing regulatory requirements and/or standards and translating them into business implications is desired.

  • Highly motivated to stay up to date with various development and being able to manage them accordingly.

  • Proficiency with MS Windows based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Experience with SharePoint and Smartsheet is a plus.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $69,000 to $92,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
