Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Information Technology the Director of Enterprise Services will be responsible foroverseeing the Production Services and Technical Services teams to ensure streamlined operations aligned with organizational objectives. Leading the planning and implementation of enterprise systems and policies, this role focuses on maximizing effectiveness, scalability, and service quality. By continuously assessing both existing and emerging technologies, the Director identifies opportunities to enhance business objectives and goals at the District and college levels. Responsibilities encompass a wide array of professional disciplines including Cloud and On-Premise Infrastructure, Networking, Storage, Server administration, Telecommunications, Unified Communications, IT Service Management, Change Management, Asset Management, Database Administration, PeopleSoft Configuration Management/System Administration, Computer Operations, Data Warehouse/Governance, and Cybersecurity.

Assignment Responsibilities

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership:
  • Providing strategic direction and leadership for the Enterprise Services department including the Production Services and Technical Services teams including functional responsibility over districtwide Infrastructure, Networking, Telecommunications, Production Operations and Cybersecurity.
  • Developing and communicating a clear vision for leveraging technology to support academic excellence, operational efficiency, and student success, with a strong emphasis on IT Service Management, Change Management, and Asset Management.
  • Cultivating strategic partnerships with industry vendors, technology providers, and peer institutions to stay abreast of trends and developments in Infrastructure, Networking, Telecommunications, Production Operations and Cybersecurity.

Operational Excellence:
  • Overseeing the design, deployment, and management of enterprise infrastructure, including cloud and on-premise solutions, to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Implementing best practices for IT Service Management, including incident management, problem management, and change management, to enhance service delivery and user satisfaction.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of responsibility, including Database Administration, Computer Operations, and Data Warehouse/Governance, to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Representing the organization in relevant industry forums, conferences, and consorting to identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Technology Innovation:
  • Leading the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhancing organizational agility.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration to accelerate digital transformation initiatives.
  • Championing the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools to drive informed decision-making and improve institutional effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, academic departments, administrative units, faculty and student groups to understand their technology needs and priorities, and developing tailored solutions to support their objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback, and incorporate their input into decision-making processes.
  • Providing timely and transparent communication on technology initiatives, projects, and servicing disruptions to minimize impact and build trust and confidence in the departments capabilities.

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Developing and implementing robust security, privacy, and compliance controls to protect institutional data, systems, and assets, with a focus on Information Security and Data Governance.
  • Leading the development of risk management strategies to mitigate cyber threats, regulatory compliance risks, and other operational risks, including Asset Management and Change Management.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and overseeing the preparation and response to audits and assessments.

Talent Development and Engagement:
  • Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent in the Enterprise Services department through effective recruitment, training, and professional development programs. ·
  • Fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability by setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and recognizing and rewarding performance.
  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of talent management, and creating opportunities for career advancement and leadership development.

Performance Management and Accountability:
  • Defining and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of enterprise services.
  • Holding team members accountable for achieving performance targets and meeting service level agreements (SLAs) through regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Implementing mechanisms for continuous improvement and quality assurance to ensure that enterprise services meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and industry benchmarks.

Financial Stewardship:
  • Developing and managing the departmental budget in alignment with strategic priorities and resource constraints, with a focus on optimizing investments in Cloud and On-Premise Infrastructure, Networking, Storage and Cybersecurity.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency gains through technology initiatives and investments.
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability in financial management practices, and providing regular reporting and updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Change Leadership:
  • Leading change management efforts to drive adoption of new technologies, processes, and organizational structures.
  • Anticipating and addressing potential challenges and resistance to change through effective communication, education, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fostering a culture of resilience and adaptability to enabling the organization to navigate complex and dynamic environments and seize opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Have a bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems or related discipline; OR, any bachelors degree and two additional years of qualifying experience. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by July 1, 2024.
  2. Have two years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators administrative assignment.
  3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

$184,113.67 - $199,290.56 per year LRCCD Salary Schedules

Additional Salary Information

Additional stipend for an earned doctorate from an accredited university.
