Part-Time Testing Proctor for Evanston Outreach

Job Description

EXPECTATIONS AND NATURE OF THE POSITION

The primary responsibility of this position is to proctor and administer placement and vocational tests at both the Evanston Outreach and to ensure a professional and secure testing environment for students. Work with test providers to trouble-shoot problems. 

The Testing Proctor will have a schedule that will require some day and evening working hours.

It is expected that this individual will accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, this individual must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with college personnel and the public. This individual must follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE

1. Adhere strictly to FERPA and Western confidentiality policies.

2. Administer and proctor placement, nursing, individual student, career and industry tests throughout the calendar year according to schedule set by Outreach Coordinator and various schools on campus.

3. Troubleshoot software applications with sponsors technical support.

4. Proctor group placement testing sessions at the Evanston Outreach.

5. Works with students to help them fill out college application and registration forms when needed. 

6. Performs office duties such as answering office phone when needed.

7. Cooperates with other Western personnel on various institutional undertakings as necessary.

8. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Associate degree

2. Ability to work with diverse testers without regard to age, cultural background, religion, and/or economic status.

3. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
 
4. Ability to exercise sound judgment in all facets of the testing process and environment.
 
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, testing candidates, staff, and administrators.

6. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Wyoming drivers license and drive their personal vehicle to testing site in Evanston.


Equivalency Statement

For those who do not exactly meet all the minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities may be acceptable.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Demonstrated working excellence at a community college or community business as indicated by references.
