Summary
Under general direction of the Vice President of Instruction, plan, develop, organize, promote, coordinate and monitor the day-to-day activities and operations of all Lassen Community College athletic programs.

Education and Experience
Possession of a masters degree; and one year of formal training, internship, or
leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators administrative
assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and evaluate coaching staff.
  • Supervise student workers
  • Actively participate in Consultation Council
  • Actively participate in Cabinet
  • Represent the District at assigned local, regional, and state meeting; serve on committees
  • Prepare master sports calendar that includes conference and non-conference games/events and practices in accordance with athletic program budget
  • In conjunction with respective Division Chair, coordinate gymnasium, athletic fields and athletic equipment use for practices and games and give final authorization for the use of either the gym or the athletic fields
  • Communicate the athletic schedules(team rosters, schedules, travel) to the faculty
  • Oversee the completion and timely submission of the Annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) survey.
  • Comply with all state and federal reporting, including all accrediting bodies
  • Prepare the Instructional Program Review per the LCC guidelines
  • Oversee the athletic booster program, aligned with the College Foundation
  • Coordinate with instructional faculty, student services administration and staff to verify and monitor student athletic eligibility and attendance
  • Arrange for, or serve as, the administrator in charge of all athletic events
  • Coordinate athletic fundraising events
  • Research and compile data and reports required for proposing new programs
  • Coordinate athletic community service functions
  • Coordinate with coaching staff and facilities staff to schedule appropriate transportation for athletic travel
  • Administer appropriate rules governing the conduct of athletic activities and enforce the policies and procedures of the California Community College Athletic Association
  • Requisition program supplies and equipment as provided for in the budget
  • Complete and maintain inventory of athletic equipment at the end of each athletic season; identify needed repairs and replacement
  • Promote community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to athletic programs and events; ensure accurate and timely reporting of athletic competition results for inclusion on college website in conjunction with the College Marketing Director and the Outreach Coordinator
  • Arrange all details of visiting teams needs, servings, and field assistance, as appropriate
  • In conjunction with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance plan the upgrade of existing facilities and the proposed construction of new facilities

Physical Demands
Requires sufficient visual acuity to recognize words and numbers; auditory capacity to speak and hear in public settings; and ambulatory ability to travel to other locations.
