Job Roles

*Assists providers in meeting productivity standards through development of efficient patient flow systems that ensure optimal patient flow with patients processed efficiently and walk-ins triage expediently.

*Builds positive relationships, inspires others to perform at a higher level, prepares career development plans and retains an accountable workforce.

*Coaches and counsels staff and administers appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.

*Coordinates staff time off, planning and providing for coverage as needed. In conjunction with the clinic and ancillary site managers, develops nurse schedules based on patient demands, staff leave schedules and physician staffing.

*Ensures nursing staff provide appropriate and complete documentation in all patient records and in all provider/nurse communications.

*Maintains community and educational institution linkages within the San Diego community to promote FHCSD goals.

*Oversees the development and coordination of orientation and training of all nursing personnel at all sites. Ensures a continuing program of formal and informal education for Nursing/MA staff to enable them to practice at the highest level of their scope of practice. Interacts with supervisors to ensure that in-services are site-wide.

*Participates in continuous improvement activities and ensures appropriate Lean tools (i.e., 5S, A3) are deployed and results are evaluated and/or measured.

*Participates with management in organizational long-term planning and the development of strategic initiatives.

*Performs other duties as assigned.

*Provides/ensures staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.

*Responsible for oversight and competency assessments of Nurses and Medical Assistants, and Case Managers supporting all departments and sites.

*Responsible for supervision, competency assessment and scheduling of Nursing Department Support Staff. Coordinates departmental and other meetings in order to ensure implementation of center policies and consistency with health center goals.

*Works cooperatively with other team members in activities of the Quality Committees, ensuring corporate-wide implementation of all quality concepts, including infection control program, patient satisfaction, etc.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

*Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.

*Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.

*Current California RN license required.

*RN or BSN degree; Master's degree preferred.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

*5 years of supervisory experience and knowledge of budgets and budget preparation.

*5 years' experience demonstrating progressively responsible positions in the health care services required wit preference for ambulatory medical clinics.

*Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

*Demonstrated skills in customer and patient satisfaction, strong service recovery skills.

*Demonstrated track record of working with physicians and other providers preferred.

*Demonstration of continued education/professional development.

*Desire to go above and beyond what is basically required for the position

*Knowledge of budget preparation, budget management and financial accountability required.

*Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques, including performance management and employee development.

*Possesses analytical skills, advanced computer skills, and good oral and written communication skills.

*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

*Works well independently and within the group process.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
