The UF@Santa Fe Center seeks a Program Assistant to serve as receptionist for the Center, support Center transfer events and activities, provide general transfer advising information and referral for the bachelors degree programs of the University of Florida and Santa Fe College, and complete clerical tasks.
The salary for this position is $15/hr. It is a 25 hour per week position. The schedule is M-F, 9:15 am to 2:45 pm. Dependable attendance is a must.
This position requires prior experience in customer service, basic use of Microsoft Office word and excel, the ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve independently, communicate by phone, email and in person in a friendly, professional manner, and interact professionally with diverse populations of students, staff, and faculty from SF and UF.
Also required is some infrequent physical activity such as delivering documents across campus, setting up chairs, and moving small (25 lb or less) boxes in an outdoor storage room.Responsibilities and Duties
- Information and referral: serve as first point of contact for current and prospective students and their families for SF and UF transfer degree programs
- Schedule, greet and assist UF advisors for 70+ transfer advising programs each semester
- Promotional activities: greeting, hosting and minimal room set up for infrequent (approximately 3 times per year) larger events
- Receptionist duties: student sign in; traffic facilitation and general room upkeep including distribution and purge of informational materials
- Carry out clerical duties such as data collection for tracking and reporting purposes, document preparation, and editing and maintaining digital files and documents.
- Contact students by phone, email, or video conference call (Zoom) as needed to assist Center staff with student follow up for registration, advising, graduation and other academic outreach.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: 30 credit hours toward an AS or AA degree program and 2 years of customer service experience is required. Clerical and receptionist experience in an office environment is preferred. Familiarity with Santa Fe College is a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for current SF students, especially online students.
