About the Opportunity
Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a Director for Recruitment and Outreach. whose primary responsibility is to support the instructional mission of the institution and to promote positive student and customer relations. The individual in this position will also provide leadership, student recruitment planning and execution of enrollment management strategies and efforts for all campuses and student populations. This individual will also lead and direct outreach initiatives across campus and the greater Kalamazoo community.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide input, execute, and oversee implementation of strategic enrollment management plan for all campuses and student populations. Implement and manage all enrollment data, activity, campaigns, and data trends to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse class of learners. Collaborate with key stake holders to provide projections and develop enrollment goals. Analyze and interpret enrollment data and other metrics to adjust enrollment management strategies to achieve the mission and values of the college.
    • Oversee the strategic recruitment of territories covering over 12 counties, with over 100 high schools, businesses, non-profit organizations, and other related entities. Identify goals and targets for increasing and sustaining enrollment pipelines through targeted recruitment campaigns, one-on-one follow-up with prospective students, developing deeper relationships with high schools, community organizations and local employers. Connect internal stakeholders with activities and recruitment initiatives.
    • Manage the process of turning prospective students into admitted students, utilizing the student recruitment Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and associated communication systems to maximize effective outreach to prospective students including adult, international, DACA, refugee, returning citizen, and underserved student populations. Serve as a designed school official (DSO).
    • Advise the college on student recruitment systems and technologies to improve recruitment and enrollment management efforts. Evaluate digital and social media analytics and other tools to evaluate impact.
    • Lead teams in facilitating on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, collaborate with other college departments to facilitate recruitment events and campus activities
    • Plan, schedule, and support events as a part of the colleges outreach initiatives to develop or reinforce new learner pipelines. Work with faculty, administrators, support staff, and other nearby school officials to implement, evaluate, and refine outreach to achieve the desired outcomes.
    • Plan, coordinate and evaluate the organizational, financial and personnel activities of the department. Recommend hire, orient, train and evaluate assigned staff. Monitor and coordinate staff development and training.

 


Supervisory Responsibilities:
The individual in this position will provide functional and administrative supervision over four full-time positions, as well as multiple part-time Student Ambassadors.

Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of acceptable supervisory principles and practices
  • Knowledge of academic programs, courses and services
  • Knowledge of student services practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of College enrollment procedures
  • Knowledge of Federal regulations pertaining to international students
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities
  • Skill in analyzing, managing and tracking data
  • Skill in oral and written communications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Appropriate education, training, experience and talents are required. An example of this would be a Bachelors degree in student services, business administration or a related field and four years of related experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Masters degree is preferred.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
