The position of Assistant to the Head Coach, Program Manager will primarily provide support to the Karen and Kevin Keyes Family Head Coach, specifically scheduling public engagements (with the assistance of Fighting Irish Media), maintaining her daily calendar, her recruiting schedule itinerary, managing ticket allotments, booking travel, submitting expense report reimbursements, and often accompanying the Head Coach as she attends special events. This individual will also assist the Head Coach in all aspects of communication and planning, especially in organizing major events and appearances in connection with donor relations/fundraising for the discretionary fund, and will further assist the Head Coach, Director of Basketball Operations, and the Sport Administrator in balancing the discretionary fund budget. As a liaison for development, this role will operate on behalf of the Head Coach in earmarking donations and corresponding with donors. Additionally, this individual will often proactively convey the Head Coachs ideas and vision to the Program and to those who support it.

Additional Coaching Staff Support: This individual will assist the Associate Head Coach with the process of game scheduling. Game scheduling additionally includes assisting the Sport Administrator with the administrative schedule, game contract, and class miss approval processes. This individual will additionally coordinate and attend external staff meetings and serve as a note-taker.

Student-Athlete Development Services: This role will serve as a resource for current student-athletes as they seek assistance with personal development. This individual will connect student-athletes with brand building and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) training and opportunities with the Fighting Irish Media (FIM) and NIL staff. In conjunction with FIM and NIL staff, this role ensures student-athletes are well-versed in NCAA rules and University Policy on NIL and aware of available department resources. This individual will work with the NIL staff to communicate schedule breaks for potential student-athlete opportunities. This individual will additionally connect student-athletes with valuable on-campus resources and empower them to embrace the Notre Dame Community. This role serves as the liaison for the Womens Basketball student-athlete support network such as compliance, residence life, meals, the GLD Center, and Career Services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (4 years)
  • 2+ years of experience in DI College Athletics, preferably Womens Basketball
  • This individual must work closely with members of the Program, including the Sport Administrator and Fighting Irish Media to ensure the Mission of the University and the Vision of the Head Coach are consistently well communicated.
  • Ability to multitask; detail-oriented; strong interpersonal skills; strong communication skills, both written and verbal; strong technology skills with the ability to quickly learn additional applications, including recruiting software. High-level understanding of demands on student-athletes.
  • Division I Athletics experience
  • Extensive Knowledge of NCAA and NIL Rules and Policies; knowledge of NCAA rules relative to the NCAA DI WBB Recruiting Calendar

  • Knowledge of ARMS Software a plus
