BUDGETED SALARY: up to $87,000 depending on experience
General Description:
In partnership with CDO, this role will work closely with our stakeholders and partners to assess their needs, then develop, facilitate, and deliver opportunities where DEI can add value (e.g., cultural competencies, training, assessment, etc.) for the improvement and growth, of teams and our community with an overarching goal of building inclusive and equitable organizations.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in person at an MCC location or partner organization. Remote work from home options may be granted at department discretion. MCC reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to the employees.
Required Skills
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field with three years minimum experience. Masters degree preferred. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2. A thorough understanding of and experience with adult learning strategies, project management, change management, and measurement/assessment methodologies.
3. Deep knowledge and experience in DEI principles and tenets.
4. Demonstrated use of tact, judgement and discretion, and ability to relate to people of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, and social-economic backgrounds.
5. Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills, analytic skills, interpersonal and influencing skills, and conflict management skills.
6. Curriculum development experience.
7. Excellent consulting, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills both in-person and virtually. Professionally represent the institution in the community and on campus.
8. Skilled in implementing strategic plans, goals, and procedures.
9. Collect and analyze demographic data for the college and external clients.
10. Demonstrated experience to work collaboratively with and the strong ability to advise, partner, influence, and effectively consult with diverse internal (students, faculty/staff, alumni, donors, board members) and external stakeholder(s) and groups, including senior leaders, executives, and project owners.
11. Strong knowledge of the dynamics of difference, privilege, and power.
12. Excellent problem identification and problem-solving ability with emphasis on conflict resolution, negotiation, team building and collaboration.
13. Proficient in MS Office Suite, general research skills and ability to learn institutional reporting systems.
14. Occasional travel: a valid drivers license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards is required if driving.
1. Consults, develops, and facilitates DEI programs and retreats that are customized to the needs of each team and are received as informative, dynamic, and engaging.
2. Maintains relationships with teams and leaders throughout the community and across the College.
3. Proactively identifies opportunities where DEI can add value (e.g., training, cultural awareness, cultural competencies, organizational strategy, equity support, analytics, policy development, and community outreach) for improvement and growth.
4. Designs and conducts a needs analysis of teams, departments, and organizations; probes and diagnoses the needs of each situation and determines the optimal solution to enhance effectiveness that supports strategic goals.
5. Continuously improves workshops and other services offered to reflect best practices.
6. Upon request, provide consultation, advice and recommend resources to local companies in the process of formulating and implementing diversity initiatives and activities.
7. Helps leaders to structure, design, and implement organizational change through DEI initiatives; makes recommendations to affected leadership.
8. Monitors and analyzes key metrics to support a practical reporting approach that measures the impact and effectiveness of programs.
9. Supports the design, facilitation, and rollout of diversity, equity, and inclusion educational initiatives that embed DEI in developmental learning programs.
10. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and supports a community involvement strategy that builds strong relationships with external organizations, including involvement in community initiatives and events while marketing the commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce.
11. Partners with the Marketing and Communications organization and others to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion topics are included in appropriate internal and external communications.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat/cold; and moderate to loud noise levels.
- Normal Office environment with little, if, any, discomfort due to heat, dust, noise and the like. Ability to travel to all campus locations required.
