Position Title: Director of Academic Operations and Data Analyses

Unit: Non-Unit Professional (NUP)

Reports To: President

Date: August 2024

The Director of Academic Operations and Data Analyses is responsible for ensuring data collection and analyses; creation of necessary reports; supporting institutional assessment efforts and working with the Office of Institutional Assessment. Reporting to the president or his designee the Director of Academic Operations and Data Analyses manages academic operations and strategic data initiatives for the President's Office. The Director of Academic Operations and Data Analyses plays a key role in ensuring effective and timely data collection, analyses, and reporting ensuring institutional priorities are met.

This position involves collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to advance the institution's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Support and Planning:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic data related initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate the execution of institutional academic operations and data analyses priorities and ensure alignment with the institution's mission and goals.
  • Provide strategic thinking and evaluation on academic operations and data analyses.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of data projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of projects, managing resources and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments and divisions.
  • Prepare and review academic operations and data presentations, and reports for the President and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate panning meetings with senior leadership and the president as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance productivity.
  • Manage office budgets, resources, and administrative functions.

Job Requirements:


Education

  • A master's degree in higher education administration, public administration, business administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration or a similar environment.

Skills:

  • Strong research and data analyses background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and execution.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, governance, and operations.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Adapt at working across platforms to seamlessly integrate data and data management systems

Preferences:

  • Familiarity with Jenzabar or similar SIS (student information system)
  • Expert at MS Word Products, including Microsoft Access
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics
  • Knowledge of SQL and Tableau reporting systems

Additional Information:


Compensation
 (Salary Range): $100,000.00-$110,000.00 (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
