Essential Functions:
The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Division is home to the departments of architectural technology, biology, chemistry, computer science, data science, engineering, information security, mathematics, physical science, and veterinary technology. The Associate Academic Dean of STEM assists the Division Dean in providing leadership, direction, and oversight of the STEM staff, adjunct faculty, and programs. This includes but is not limited to collaborating with the Dean and division faculty and staff to articulate a vision and strategic direction for the Division; supporting the design, development, implementation, and assessment of all courses, programs, and co-curricular engagement activities; and facilitating external partnerships/opportunities associated with the disciplines housed within the Division. This position involves some travel between Massasoit's Brockton and Canton campuses.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Dean of STEM with recruitment, orientation, and supervision of full-time and part-time faculty, professional staff, and student workers.
- Serve as a member for college wide searches and on program advisory boards, as needed.
- Stay current on technology needs within the division and advocate with IT for pedagogically appropriate and institutionally effective systems and applications as needed.
- assist Academic Dean with assigning courses.
- Participate in college and divisional strategic planning, accreditation, and statewide initiatives as needed.
- Help develop community relationships and networking opportunities connected with the goals of the Division to facilitate partnerships, advisory board participation, and local work area needs assessment.
- Adhere to all administrative guidelines and deadlines of the Collective Bargaining Agreements for full-time and part-time faculty and staff.
- Support faculty and professional staff in meeting professional development expectations.
- Assist Academic Dean in ensuring adherence to the academic program review cycle.
- Work with Academic Dean and Division faculty to develop and implement a discipline-appropriate assessment and curriculum design process to ensure the Division is delivering the best mix of courses and programs to make the most of institutional resources and meet student success needs.
- Work with Academic Dean to ensure effective program recruiting and retention through collaboration with Admissions/Enrollment Management, Advising, Marketing & Communication, Grants, and Institutional Advancement
- Collaborate with Early College department to establish and support relationships with local high schools and deliver curriculum and co-curricular opportunities as needed to meet the strategic goals of this program.
- Assist in the research, development, implementation, and reporting of appropriate grant opportunities.
- Represent the college as needed in interactions with community agencies, businesses and other community groups.
Master's degree in STEM or closely related field; with minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching at the college level and a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/administrative experience; demonstrated experience with grant writing and reporting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Master's or Ph.D. in engineering or computer science.
- Community college teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Administrative experience in an academic leadership role.
- Previous industry experience.
- Primary research experience.
Position Status: Full-Time Benefited Non-Unit Professional
Hours: 37.5
Salary: $90,627.00-$117,815.00
Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
