Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship Program Information

The Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JDEI) Faculty Fellowship Program affirms the institutional goals of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fellowship program seeks to promote the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty at Lane Community College. The program does this by advancing the careers of individuals from groups in U.S. society that have been historically underrepresented in the academic profession. Among the Colleges goals are increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of its faculty and broadening access to the college-teaching profession to qualified minority scholars. To help achieve these goals, Lane Community College sponsors an annual Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship program designed to bring two faculty members to the College each year.

The program specifically aims to promote and support the careers of under-represented faculty. The one-year program provides reassignment of one course for one term to ensure fellowship participants have the opportunity to fully engage in their professional development as teachers and scholars and to collaborate with colleagues. Faculty fellows will teach classes in their fields of expertise and engage fully in the life of the College. They will receive both mentorship and opportunities to connect and collaborate with colleagues not only in their own discipline, but also with faculty and administrators across the College.
