Minimal Qualifications:

• Masters degree in an academic or occupational field, education administration, or curriculum and instruction.

• 3 years progressive leadership experience required.

 

Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

3 years progressive leadership experience required.

Experience teaching in higher education.

Two (2) years of experience in instructional leadership demonstrating responsibility for faculty supervision and curriculum development.

Evidence of planning and implementation of alternative schedules and deliveries.

Evidence of leading and supporting instructional innovation, college completion, and student learning initiatives.

Experience leading institutional assessment and accreditation, academic program evaluation, and implementing, tracking, and evaluating strategic plan progress using key performance indicators (KPIs).

Experience with soliciting, managing, and coordinating grant budgets and activities, including Perkins budget.

Experience working with K-12 and education community partners on collaborative initiatives (to include Dual Credit programs).

Ability to work with diverse populations

 

Work Hours Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.
Compensation The starting salary range is $85,923- $91,078. A competitive benefit package is included.Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary Incumbent directs campus instructional activities and provides leadership in the development and management of faculty and staff, budget, academic and support programs and services. Incumbents plan, initiate, facilitate, lead and evaluate wide range of academic programming, student development, enrollment and retention, and support services and programs that contribute to student academic success.

Typical Essential Duties

• Supervises division chairs, faculty and staff, to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring training and development; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

• Provides oversight and directs the implementation of instructional activities and academic support services and programs and operations; work may involve planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, strategies, procedures, systems, and/or standards related to student development, enrollment, and support services and programs; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinates activities between multiple service areas; works to integrate and coordinate service areas.

• Identifies, promotes and supports campus and college grants.

• Prepares and administers budgets; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; and monitors and controls expenditures.

• Prepares, reviews, interprets, and analyzes a variety of complex and multi-faceted information, data, contracts, forms, schedules, calendars, surveys, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.

• Directs, leads, and develops community outreach initiatives; facilitates, leads, and supports collaborative partnerships between the college and external service area entities to increase student enrollment and provide educational training and education opportunities.

• Serves as a liaison to employees, students, and external organizations; represents the college and/or District at a variety of meetings, public events, training sessions, on committees, on policy-making bodies, and/or other related events.

• Collaborates with District and college personnel to ensure efficient operation of division programs; participates in course and/or program development to ensure compliance with applicable licensing and oversight entities.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
