Technical Director
The Crowder College Theatre Department on the Neosho Campus is seeking a Technical Director. The position of Technical Director encompasses a variety of responsibilities. While the acting technical director is primarily affiliated with design, construction and technical operation within the theatre department, s/he may also be required to assist with other events within the Elsie Plaster Auditorium. This is a contract position; obligations/compensation will vary based upon the production needs. Compensation for the position is $525 per credit hour and $25 per hour for non-theatre related events.
Job Responsibilities
- Scenic/lighting/set design
- Attend production meetings
- Work with the director to develop creative concept
- Clearly communicate the creative concept to the students and production staff
- Provide complete and accurate renderings/templates for designs
- Oversee construction of set
- Supervise and/or operate technical booth operations during plays and events.
- Maintain a working knowledge of tools and technical equipment
- Assist in inventory upkeep of props, technical equipment
- Communicate with the program director and shop foreman to insure shop safety, tidiness and supply upkeep
- Work with students in an instructional capacity
- OSHA certification (preferred)
- Fulfill any and all technical requirements during tech/show week. This includes being onsite during the run of the production.
