Other Conditions: Spring 2025, part-time, for lecturer candidate pool, non-tenurial, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and actual staffing requirements.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
  2. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught. 
  3. Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives, prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. Student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness are required. 
  6. Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential. 
  7. Must be available for evening and weekend teaching assignments, teaching on campus, off-campus at military bases, secondary education sites (high schools) and/or distance learning assignments for courses taught via the internet.  This is not a remote position.   For some teaching fields, openings may only be available for classes offered on military bases or taught via the Internet. To teach on a military base, Department of Defense security clearance will be required. To teach Early College courses for DOE schools, background checks will be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Unless a related field is listed, the degree must be in the subject area. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
  2. (a) Masters in Accounting (Macc); or (b) Masters in Business Administration (MBA) including 18 credits in Accounting (undergraduate and/or graduate – 300 level or higher); or (c) Bachelors in Accounting and three (3) years in accounting; or (d) Bachelors in related fields such as Business Administration (in areas other than Accounting) including 18 credits in Accounting (undergraduate and/or graduate – 300 level or higher) and five (5) years in accounting; or (e) Bachelors in any field and CPA/CMA or equivalent professional accounting certification (in the USA)

 

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Teaching experience at the community college level.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.
  3. Work experience related to course to be taught.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  5. Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
  7. Experience in the use of technology to support instruction and student success, including but not limited to LMS, CRM, Early Alert and presentation software. 
  8. A willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
