College and Area Information:
Eastern Arizona Colleges District Offices are located in Thatcher, Arizona, a beautiful rural area with easy access to arid as well as mountainous recreation. The College is located approximately 125 miles northeast of Tucson and 165 miles southeast of Phoenix. EAC is a comprehensive community college offering five associate degrees across nearly 50 programs of study. Eastern Arizona College is the oldest member of the Arizona Community College system and is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission.
Position Summary and Organizational Relationship:
The Director of Fine Arts reports to the Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Fine Arts. This is a twelve-month administrative position.
- Master's Degree in a fine arts discipline or related field
- Demonstrated academic leadership experience
- Extensive teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and building performing arts programs
- Experience managing budgets and logistics
- Demonstrated enthusiasm with the ability to work with others and to share recognition
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and encourage student excellence
- Demonstrated experience in planning and overseeing community outreach initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead effective teams
- Knowledge of and experience with musical performances and theater productions
- Knowledge of current theater production technology
- Knowledge of Music & Synchronization Licensing for video productions
- Experience in Marketing and advertising via videography production
- Experience managing fine arts performance facilities and production schedules Knowledge of equipment, facilities, and creative processes required for various media in the visual arts
- Experience producing and overseeing art exhibitions
- Experience managing academic schedules, courses, and curricula
- Experience in performing and visual arts education at the secondary or post-secondary level
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work evenings
Essential Functions:
- Assume administrative leadership of the Art, Media Communications, Music, and Theater Departments, as well as their instructional and performance facilities
- Support the vision, mission, purposes, and values of the college
- Effectively communicate information to the Fine Arts faculty and to the college administration, fostering cooperation, coordination, and trust
- Set the example of a Hungry, Humble, and Smart team member
- Plan and coordinate Fine Arts programs and events and identify opportunities for out-reach
- Oversee the creation and administration of all budgets for the Fine Arts programs and facilities, ensuring fiscal responsibility, efficiency, and accountability
- Make sound decisions that adhere to EAC policies and align with established budgets
- Fulfill assignments, meet deadlines, and develop new project ideas
- Advance the reputation of Fine Arts programs throughout the local community and within the state
- Develop and participate in recruitment activities to build enrollment
- Oversee the curriculum and instruction processes within the Fine Arts programs to ensure quality educational experiences for students
- Mentor direct reports to ensure they understand expectations and have the tools to accomplish their jobs
- Complete annual performance evaluations of direct reports
- Evaluate the effectiveness of individual Fine Arts programs, performances, and shows through the program portfolio process
- Oversee program assessment of student learning outcomes for each of the Fine Arts programs
- Collaborate with the Fine Arts faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to create a division mission statement and list of values that drive initiatives for innovation and excellence in the educational experiences and artistic productions
- Foster collaboration within the Fine Arts programs and across the college
- Collaborate with the marketing department to market and advertise Fine Arts programs and events
- Serve on the Curriculum Committee and the Strategic Facilities Committee and other institutional committees/taskforces as assigned

Compensation and Position Availability:
The initial position compensation range is $91,230.75 - $95,909 per the current academic year salary schedule plus a cash flex benefit. The position also includes excellent employee benefits. The anticipated position start date is January 2, 2025.
