Position Summary

NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

This position involves performance duties for a federally funded project and is contingent on continued federal funding. In the event that funds for this position are discontinued or significantly reduced or if federal requirements for funding this project no longer include this position, the College shall have the right to discontinue the position. Neither tenure or non- probationary status may be attained in this position, the funding and duration of which are finite.

The Project Manager coordinates a comprehensive and collaborative campus-wide effort to maximize the recruitment, retention, and graduation of rural students. The Project Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of programs and initiatives designed to support rural students.

 

Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C3, Rank II: $61,179-$91,145.

Verification of experience (employment) will be required after the interview process and prior to an offer of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide administrative oversight and coordination of the Center to Improve Rural Student Success (CIRSS).

2. Maximize efforts with community organizations, K-12 partners, and other stakeholders to recruit rural students.

3. Work with campus constituencies to develop and implement initiatives to enhance rural student engagement, enrollment, retention, and graduation rates.

4. Facilitate professional development for faculty and staff, focusing on challenges and best practices that impact rural student enrollment, engagement, and success.

5. Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness Office to collect, analyze, and maintain data for continuous project improvement and assessment.

6. Coordinate with Marketing to develop publication materials for recruitment, outreach, and visibility efforts targeting rural students and communities.

7. Serve as a resource to participants, faculty, and staff, providing guidance on services and support available to rural students.

8. Develop, manage, and monitor the program budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet program goals.

9. Prepare reports and documents for grant reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and timelines.

10. Coordinate mentorship and peer support programs tailored to the unique needs of rural students.

11. Organize events, workshops, and activities that promote rural student engagement, leadership development, and career readiness.

12. Advocate for rural students within the institution, ensuring their needs are considered in institutional planning and policy development.

13. Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in rural education and student success initiatives.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.

2. As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), report to the official or office designated by the institution to collect crime report information, such as the campus police or security department, those allegations of Clery Act crimes that the CSA concludes were made in good faith.

3. Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.

4. Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.

5. Interact with and serve diverse student and employee populations in a courteous and friendly manner.

6. Adhere to College standards of professionalism and confidentiality, including courteous and friendly interaction with other CVCC employees.

7. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in the Alabama Community College System and College policies and assigned by dean.

8. Recruit potential students, both traditional and nontraditional, to the College, and assist in retention efforts.

9. Prepare annual departmental budgets.

10. Approve expenditures and monitor monthly department budgets

11. Represent the institution in a positive manner.

12. Serve on committees as assigned.

13. Participate in graduation.

14. Participate in the College's planning process.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Masters degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in a related field of study
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory-level experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment
  • Grant writing and grant management experience
  • Leadership skills; commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with database management
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; solve complex problems
