Job Summary

The Division Clerk provides clerical support to the dean, secretary, faculty and students as well as overseeing the day to day operations of the Science Faculty Pool and Fox pool for the division office.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of clerical experience
  • Knowledge of general office equipment including reproduction equipment
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong bookkeeping, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college-level courses

Essential Functions

  • Perform general clerical duties including answering phones and greeting visitors
  • Perform all functions to schedule and conduct events
  • Prepare PSFs and transmittals for payroll
  • Submit requests for general maintenance, computer issues, and van requests
  • Maintain equipment inventory records
  • Assist in the maintenance of all division files
  • Prepare monthly expense reports for paper charges
  • Oversee equipment maintenance
  • Keep pool organized
  • Maintain and order supplies for faculty and Division
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Duties indoors and some outdoors
  • Office environment
  • Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
