Summary of Position
The Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff serves as second in command and provides support to the President, overseeing key operational, strategic, and change management functions. This role is crucial for managing confidential matters, advising on daily operations, supporting data informed decision-making, and ensuring smooth communication between the President and the colleges leadership team, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
The Senior VP and Chief of Staff provides strategic oversight for Institutional Research, Marketing and Communications, and Grant Development, leading strategic institutional planning, assessment efforts, and shared governance to enhance continuous improvement and innovation. Additionally, this position spearheads important projects, supports resource development, designs, evaluates, and communicates institutional data to constituents, and represents the College in the community, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and effective execution of strategic initiatives. The Senior VP and Chief of Staff serves as the accreditation liaison officer to the Higher Learning Commission and is responsible for accreditation activities and reporting.

- Knowledge of institutional assessment of institutional effectiveness and student outcomes assessment principles, methods and techniques.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to design research studies and methodology, analyze, summarize, and effectively present actionable research results.
- Knowledge of campus planning and development principles, and strong skills as a team leader, team developer, and facilitator.
- Skill in the integration of institutional budget processes with the overall mission, objectives, and strategic priorities of the College.
- Masters degree from an accredited institution or a bachelors degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience developing and executing short- and long-term strategies, initiatives, and planning through data-informed decisions.
- Two (2) years of senior or executive level experience including supervision of others.
- Proven record of developing relationships, working closely with executive leaders, and building consensus among diverse stakeholders to enhance organizational mission and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams through change.
- A leadership record with solid commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with a focus on equitable outcomes.
- Knowledge of and experience with accreditation and assessment.
- Doctorate degree or terminal degree in discipline from an accredited institution.
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
- May be required to work out of any RRCC campus location. Regular after-hours or weekend work required. Some occasional local, regional, and/or national travel may be required.

Starting salary range for this position is $171,428 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
