We are hiring 3 IT Support Specialists who will provide frontline support to students, faculty and staff.  This position will be located at LLCC main campus in Springfield, IL.

As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 10 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on-campus fitness center. Starting salary will be within one of the three ranges below based on skills, experience and training as defined. There is a defined career progression for this position. Level progression will be based on experience, skills mastered and training/education obtained.

I: Entry level, foundational knowledge and experience $47,188 – $61,203
II: 3+ years experience, intermediate knowledge, advanced desktop support experience $50,818 – $66,285
III: 5+ years experience, advanced desktop support experience, experience in systems management/administration, demonstrated leadership abilities $54,798 – $71,721

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug-screen, physical, and functional capacity exam.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • One or more years of relevant work experience in enterprise IT
  • Experience supporting end users remotely as well as in-person
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technology
  • Customer-focused attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Possess (or obtain within 6 months of employment) and maintain a valid and current CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a helpdesk or technical support role within an educational or similar environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices and principles.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience in implementing security measures.
  • Server administration experience.
  • Previous experience administering a Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Previous experience supporting Apple products in an enterprise or educational environment.
  • Experience installing and supporting audio/visual systems.
  • Experience supporting videoconferencing equipment in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting Layer 1 network issues.
  • Experience in IT asset management and deployment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, or carry large objects and equipment
  • Lift 50 pounds from waist to overhead occasionally
  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Conduct occasional overhead work
  • Grip, hold, and pinch small objects
  • Dexterity to bend, squat, stoop, and reach on a regular basis

Position Salary

Starting salary is likely to be between $47,188 and $61,203 per year.
