Job Description

Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary position. Temporary positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.


The position will work on a variety of tasks to include office work, data gathering from all campus buildings, occasional physical labor, and participation in Sustainability events. Will develop report formats and perform data entry using a desktop computer. At times will assist with the disassembly of furniture and equipment to make ready for recycling.

Typical Duties

The temporary position includes the following responsibilities:

  • The position will work on a variety of tasks to include office work, data gathering from all campus buildings, occasional physical labor, and participation in Sustainability events. 
  • Will develop report formats and perform data entry using a desktop computer. 
  • At times will assist with the disassembly of furniture and equipment to make ready for recycling. 
  • Must be adept at technical details with a high level of accuracy. 
  • Must be able to follow instructions for data collecting methods, create very accurate documentation in Excel or Word, assess the data, and create reports suitable to present to management.
  • Able to lead groups of student volunteers at Sustainability events while adhering to the campus' policies for behavior and safety. 
  • Must be able to work with a variety of people including students, faculty, staff, and volunteers. 
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends and act responsibly while using campus vehicles and property.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in sustainability work, LEED AP (accredited professional). Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: One year of education is equal to 30 semester units.)

Education must be from an accredited institution.
