POSITION TYPE: Full-time, exempt
SCHEDULE: Up to 40 hours/week, based on contract funding
Priority deadline: 8 a.m. on Monday, October 21.

- Employees schedule to work 35-40 hours = 16 VTO hours
- Employees schedule to work 25-34 hours = 12 VTO hours

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Impact & Strategy works closely with the CEO to develop and implement program goals and strategic plans for the agency. They are responsible for driving change, improvement, and decision-making that sustains the organization's growth by collaborating with and supporting the leadership team. They encompass cross-organizational work, such as Community Needs Assessment, data and project management, and incorporation of client voices in developing BMACs services. As BMAC embarks in its next strategic planning cycle, this position will lead the organizational efforts to plan and implement this work. The position will serve as a member of the management team.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes, but is not limited to:
Strategy and Project Management
- Serve as the primary support to the CEO in all strategic and organizational projects as directed.
- Oversee BMACs Community Services Block Grant requirements, including researching community needs, gathering client feedback, and providing direction for our Community Needs Assessment, collaborating with agency staff to develop and implement annual strategic work plan.
- In partnership with the CEO and Directors, support the development, management and execution of the BMAC's strategic plan.
- Lead BMACs data collection efforts to provide consistent and actionable reports on the impact of BMAC services.

- Train staff and support the use and management of CAP60, BMACs internal client database.

- Oversee CAP60 software use and perform quality control checks to ensure information is entered correctly and consistently.
- Be proactive in identifying potential issues on projects, outgoing communications, or agenda items of the CEO. Initiate solutions to collaborate with the CEO and Directors.
- Oversee key special projects, including preparing deliverables, drafting letters, correspondence, emails, and other tasks on behalf of the CEO as needed.
- Identify strategic risks and collaborate with the CEO and management team to address those risks.
Administration and Communications
- Ensure coordination and organizational effectiveness by prioritizing, scheduling, and managing key internal and external meetings and communications.
- Assist with annual application and required reporting for the Community Service Block Grant, as well as other agency-wide reporting and grant making.
- Work with Senior Director of HR on people, staffing levels, and cultural matters.
- Help maintain, develop and update operating and administrative policies and procedures, and assure learning and training opportunities across the organization.
- Provide additional capacity to the CEO and Directors on a variety of levels when needed.
- Serve as support and the primary liaison to staff committees and ensure staff input is considered and incorporated, and that follow-through is taking place.
- Organize and manage annual staff retreat and monthly staff meetings.
Board Support
- Serves as CEOs administrative liaison to the BMAC Board of Directors including notetaking for meetings, support for recruitment, orientation, and training of board members.
- Help organize regular board materials, assemble, and distribute a Board packet and corresponding communications pre- and post-meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Relevant experience and/or education may be substituted for either education or work history.
- Bachelors degree in business, project management, public administration or related field; Masters preferred.
- Five (5) years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, government, or philanthropic organization, working on growth, business development, strategy, planning, or related issues.

- Experience in database management, grant management, supervision, personnel management preferred.

- Experience working with low-income populations in our region, preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.

- Knowledge of best practices in strategic planning and nonprofit management.
- Strong project management experience, with experience managing complex projects and multiple teams, keeping results within budget and on time.
- Ability to compile data and information accurately, analyze data, provide clear visual and well-written narrative reports and correspondence, and identify trends to report on agency results and inform agency decision-making.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to provide training to adult learners on a range of professional development topics.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with BMAC staff, volunteers, Board members, and community partners.
- Must possess excellent oral, written and comprehension skills for a broad spectrum of communication responsibilities.
- Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Ability to think creatively to identify solutions within program or grant requirements to drive program results and improve service delivery and program outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain positive professional working relationships.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to work effectively with diverse populations, including LGBTQ and people of color, as well as individuals of all ages and ability levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, open office environment, managing multiple projects, with frequent interruptions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint and ability to learn/use CAP60, Constant Contact, Adobe, Canva, Bloomerang, and Volgistics.
- Ability to train & support others in using CAP60 software.
Certifications
- Employee must provide their own vehicle for travel and current auto insurance.
- Valid state drivers license by time of hire with a good driving record. Mileage will be reimbursed according to the current IRS mileage rate.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in an office environment with moderate noise level. Requires local and some regional travel. Scheduling flexibility is required to accommodate evenings, weekends and unanticipated needs, on occasion.
