Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Recruit and enroll the required number of qualified student participants to carry out the legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Establishes a viable retention program for participants, including the development and nurturing of workable linkages between participants/project, participating schools, resource agencies, families of the clientele, vendors, college administrators and personnel.
- Provide timely and relevant information for decision-making and implement resulting directives. Promote collaboration among stakeholders, disseminate information, answer routine questions, facilitate meetings, and assist with soliciting financial and material support for the grant.
- Provide direct services to participants through counseling and advisement. Research and coordinate culturally enriching experiences for program participants.
- Maintain the highest standards of ethical behavior and serve as an exemplary model of professional leadership.
- Maintain records and other confidential information about all program participants. Assist with compiling and reporting information to meet grant regulations and college requirements and to improve program outcomes.
- Complete the documentation of services to all Harding students through Educlimber and Powerschool
- Assist with the production of marketing materials, other outreach methods, and maintenance of the program website.
- Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predictable attendance and work overtime as required to meet workload demands.
- Follow recordkeeping procedures and manage appropriate department records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards.
- Assist in the development of workshops, career development presentations, and cultural programming for program participants.
- Prepare and provide post-activity evaluation data, as appropriate to the objectives of the position; prepare scheduled and special reports as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE
1. Assists in overseeing the development of local project materials and marketing pieces for Harding College and Career.
2. Conducts program evaluations and revises goals as necessary.
3. Submits monthly reports to MTC, MCS and Harding
MARKETING AND PUBLICATIONS
1. Works with the MTC and Harding staff to develop and implement all aspects of local marketing efforts and recruiting efforts.
2. Recruits students who are interested in Pathways and CCP
3. Maintains community and school contacts that work with special populations students.
4. Conducts presentations and networks with school district personnel as needed.
5. Educates and involves the local community in College and Career opportunities.
6. Presents to local community groups and others as related to and appropriate for the program.
DIRECT SERVICE TO STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
1. Assists in coordinating student services, workshops, seminars, and summer programs for students.
2. Establishes strong working relationships with local students and families. Conducts parent information meetings.
3. Assists in conducting student needs assessments and facilitates services tailored to meet individual student needs.
4. Assists in developing, conducting and facilitating local workshops on career exploration, college preparation and exploration, college selection, financial aid application processes, and ACT preparation.
5. Helps students to locate and prepare for scholarship opportunities.
6. Works with local school counselors to encourage enrollment in concurrent courses and involvement in a variety of collegiate and career exploration activities during their high school years.
7. Monitors FAFSA completion for all high school students
8. Tracks post-secondary plans for all students the summer between their senior year of high school and their transition.
9. Attend faculty and staff meetings (including the beginning of the year meeting when possible), school open house, College Information Night and Financial Aid Night (if applicable), and other meetings as necessary in order to meet key school personnel, and attend professional development as requested to support programming.
10. Assist with college and career preparations for students such as state and district testing, graduation planning and pathways development, credential attainment, and college visits.
QUALIFICATIONS
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Minimum preferred qualifications for this position are: Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field with experience in advising, counseling and working with disadvantaged students.
Knowledge of management principles and practices, adolescent development, learning styles, career interest inventories, college admissions requirements, secondary education curricula, student services issues, college student development and advising techniques and computer software packages required.
Ability to work with a diverse population, including parents, students, young adults, college staff, and representatives from community agencies and organizations. Coordinate projects, manage crisis situations, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Skill in problem solving, verbal and written communications, active listening, collaborating with other departments, and operating a computer and other general office equipment. Excellent customer service skills and experience in coordinating special events.
ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This position is classified as Staff and will perform a wide range of professional and administrative support functions for the college, primarily in an office setting. Further information may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources.
