Position Summary:

The Business Program at College of Western Idaho is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach assigned courses in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Successful candidates are required to hold regular office hours and to use the Blackboard learning platform to grade, communicate with students, etc. The successful candidate may be asked to teach online or teach M-F during the day or evening, or Saturday at any of the College of Western Idahos campus locations. To reach a broad range of students, the College of Western Idaho encourages instructors to explore alternative teaching styles and methods.

Essential Functions:

• Teach contracted credit load of courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the CWI catalog
• Utilize outcomes assessment measures
• Participate in instructional evaluation processes
• Meet all scheduled classes promptly with any deviations promptly and accurately communicated through the appropriate channels
• Monitor and record student progress, maintain accurate records and adhere to the College of Western Idahos deadlines for such procedures
• Demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students
• Read, understand, agree and adhere to the Business Letter of Teaching Appointment and Faculty Expectations
• Must be able to provide own means of transportation to various locations throughout the day; including travel between campuses
• Conveys by words and action the values expected by CWI
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed and assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters degree from accredited institution in Business or a related field
• Experience teaching postsecondary level students in this field of study with three years experience preferred
• Ability to adapt a variety of teaching methodologies including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning, and teaching with technology
• Ability and willingness to demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development
• Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications
• Successful online teaching experience preferred
• Successful experience using learning management systems
