Job Description

Staff library service desks, opening and closing library spaces as assigned.

Greets patrons, helping and directing them to requested service points within the facility and to other departments within the College.

Access borrower records to check library materials in and out, renew items, and update account information as needed.

Shelves library materials and preserves the physical appearance and order of collections through shelving, shelf reading, and shifting.

Guides patrons in using computers, copiers, equipment, and printers.

Collects and logs library charges when appropriate, making change for cash transactions.

Inspects items for damage and notifies a supervisor if needed.

Ensures users receive excellent customer service.

Maintains confidentiality of user information.

Contributes to work in other library functional areas as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position averages 19 hours per week during normal operating hours.
Salary $14.00 per hour
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.

Knowledge of campus and community resources.

Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs.

Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs.
-
Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.

Ability to compile information into report form.
