Position Summary

Reporting to the custodial supervisor, the Cleaner I provides cleaning and portering services throughout the University complex. This position requires work hours Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Essential Functions         

• Provides cleaning and portering services in both academic and residential University buildings.
• Removes recyclables and trash in accordance with University procedures.
• Delivers mail in the buildings.
• Rearranges furniture and does move jobs when requested.
• Keep building entrances and perimeters free of snow, ice, leaves, garbage, etc., as needed.
• Must sign in and out for all keys.
• Assumes responsibilities for all types of floor and carpet work.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience         

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six months of prior cleaning experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills       

• Must be able to read English and follow written instructions.
• Must have knowledge of general cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance, including standard use of power washers, standup vacuums & backpack vacuums.
• Knowledge of effective and safe usage of all floor machines.
• Knowledge of usage of handheld tools.
• Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education

Minimum Biweekly Salary for Internal Applicants with 3 or more years of service: $2,441.60

Maximum Biweekly Salary for Internal Applicants with 3 or more years of service: $2,441.60

Minimum Biweekly Salary for New Employees: $1,953.60

Maximum Biweekly Salary for New Employees: $1,953.60
