Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.

We currently seek full time Attending Physician to provide medical care to patients in the Geriatric area within scope of privileges, participates in departmental education and research activities:

• Provide high quality of care to an older adult population as either primary care physician or consultative service with a keen focus on preventative care, neurocognitive disorders, polypharmacy and functional assessment amongst others
• Collaborative care coordination with SW, nursing and administrative staff to ensure holistic patient care
• Advancement of geriatrics tenets via bedside and academic teaching of a large internal medicine residency group
• Participation in high quality morbidity and mortality meetings, research groups and QI projects

We require:

• Graduate from an accredited medical school (MD/DO)
• BE/BC in related field (Geriatrics, Internal Medicine/ Family medicine; BE physicians are required to sit for and pass their boards within 2 years of start date)
• Fellowship training in Geriatrics
• Evidence of formal, supervised training or clinical experience as required
• Unrestricted New York State medical license and valid DEA license
• ACLS/BLS certification
• Valid license to prescribe controlled substances.
• ACLS/BCLS Certification
• Demonstrated experience in area of specialty as set forth in credentialing requirements for that specialty.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
