Position Summary

Overview: Full-time, eight-week summer internship providing a unique view of the library and archives of a major international arts institution.

Applicants must be college students at Williams College or Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Working closely with library staff, assess material from the librarys photographs and clippings file to identify and preserve material with art historical research value.
• Assist with the newly launched digitization program by locating and linking to existing digital surrogates for rare materials if available, noting conservation needs and scanning priority if not. 
• Opportunity to create a virtual rare book talk/exhibition by selecting a theme and images from the library special collections to be shared on the librarys website or social media.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Applicants must be college students at Williams College or Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

Work Experience

• Entry level position.
• No library experience necessary.

• Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to use a computer for prolonged periods of time.
