Job Description

Meridian Community College is seeking a passionate and experienced Welding & Cutting Instructor to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in welding and cutting processes, including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and oxy-fuel cutting, and a commitment to educating and mentoring students pursuing careers in the welding industry.

Required Qualifications

  1. At least three years of verifiable full-time experience as a welder, specifically in commercial and/or industrial settings.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of welding codes, safety standards, and best practices.
  3. Proficiency in welding and cutting processes including SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and oxy-fuel cutting.
  4. Experience reading and interpreting welding blueprints, symbols, and technical drawings.
  5. Familiarity with a variety of welding tools and equipment, including grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and safety gear.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. An associate degree in Welding Technology (or a related field) .
  2. Demonstrated competence in core welding processes and techniques; teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
  3. Proficiency in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and advising, with knowledge of various instructional methods and strategies to support student success.
  4. Skilled in the use of instructional technologies to enhance hands-on and theoretical learning, with the ability to adapt to and incorporate new and emerging technologies.
